달란트 비유를 통해 느낀 점

오늘 새벽기도를 다녀오면서 달란트 비유가 생각나서 올려봅니다.

 

말씀 : 마태복음 25장 14절 ~ 30절

 

14절 :  또 어떤 사람이 타국에 갈 때 그 종들을 불러 자기 소유를 맡김과 같으니

        Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his property to them.

15절 : 각각 그 재능대로 한 사람에게는 금 다섯 달란트를, 한 사람에게는 두 달란트를,
한 사람에게는 한 달란트를 주고 떠났더니
To one he gave five talents of money, to another two talents, and to another one talent, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey.

 

16절 : 다섯 달란트 받은 자는 바로 가서 그것으로 장사하여 또 다섯 달란트를 남기고

       The man who had received the five talents went at once and put his money to work
and gained five more.

17절 : 두 달란트 받은 자도 그같이 하여 또 두 달란트를 남겼으되

       So also, the one with the two talents gained two more.

 

18절 : 한 달란트 받은 자는 가서 땅을 파고 그 주인의 돈을 감추어 두었더니

       But the man who had received the one talent went off, dug a hole in the ground
and hid his master’s money.

 

19절 : 오랜 후에 그 종들의 주인이 돌아와 그들과 결산할 새

       After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them.

 

20절 : 다섯 달란트 받았던 자는 다섯 달란트를 더 가지고 와서 이르되 주인이여 내게 다섯
달란트를 주셨는데 보소서 내가 또 다섯 달란트를 남겼나이다.
The man who had received the five talents brought the other five. ‘Master’, he said, ‘you entrusted me with five talents. See, I have gained five more.’

 

21절 : 그 주인이 이르되 잘하였도다 착하고 충성된 종아 네가 적은 일에 충성하였으매
내가 많은 것을 네게 맡기리니 네 주인의 즐거움에 참여할지어다 하고

      “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant!  You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

 

22절 : 두 달란트 받았던 자도 와서 이르되 주인이여 내게 두 달란트를 주셨는데 보소서
 내가 또 두 달란트를 남겼나이다.

      The man with the two talents also came. ‘Master’, he said, ‘you entrusted me with
two talents; see I have gained two more.’

 

23절 : 그 주인이 이르되 잘하였도다 착하고 충성된 종아 네가 적은 일에 충성하였으매
내가 많은 것을 네게 맡기리니 네 주인의 즐거움에 참여할지어다 하고

      “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant!  You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

 

24절 : 한 달란트 받았던 자는 와서 이르되 주인이여 당신은 굳은 사람이라 심지 않은데서
거두고 헤치지 않은데서 모으는 줄을 내가 알았으므로

      Then the man who had received the one talent came. ‘Master’, he said, ‘I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed.

 

25절 : 두려워하여 나가서 당신의 달란트를 땅에 감추어 두었었나이다.
보소서 당신의 것을 가지셨나이다.
So I was afraid and went out and hid your talent in the ground. See, here is what belongs  to you.’

 

26절 : 그 주인이 대답하여 이르되 악하고 게으른 종아 나는 심지 않은데서 거두고
헤치지 않은 데서 모으는 줄로 네가 알았느냐

      “His master replied, ‘You wicked, lazy servant!  So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed?

 

27절 : 그러면 네가 마땅히 내 돈을 취리하는 자들에게나 맡겼다가 내가 돌아와서
내 원금과 이자를 받게 하였을 것이라 하고

      Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers,
so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest.

 

28절 : 그에게서 한 달란트를 빼앗아 열 달란트 가진 자에게 주라
       “ ‘Take the talent from him and give it to the one who has the ten talents.

 

29절 : 무릇 있는 자는 받아 풍족하게 되고 없는 자는 그 있는 것까지 빼앗기리라

       For everyone who has will be given more, and he will have an abundance.
Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him.

 

30절 : 이 무익한 종을 바깥 어두운 데로 내쫓으라 거기서 슬피 울며 이를 갈리라 하니라

       And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping
 and gnashing of teeth.’

 

본문에는 주인, 다섯 달란트 받은 종, 두 달란트 받은 종, 한 달란트 받은 종이 등장하는데 일반적으로 주인은 하나님 아버지를 상징하고 3명의 종들은 이 세상을 사는 우리들을 상징한다고 볼 수 있는데 하나님 아버지께서 여행을 떠나시기 전에 각각 5, 2, 1 달란트를 주시고 떠나시죠.

이 여행은 제가 생각하기에는 아버지 관점에서는 여행이지만 우리의 입장에서 보면 이 세상에 태어나 생을 마감하기까지의 기간, 즉 우리가 이 세상에 살아있는 기간을 의미한다고 생각합니다.

왜냐하면 25장 전체에는 3개의 비유가 등장하는데 열 처녀 비유, 본문의 달란트 비유, 마지막으로 양과 염소를 통한 비유가 등장하는데 모두 하나님(예수님)과 우리들을 나타내며 예수님이 오셨을 때 일어날 일들을 상징적으로 나타내고 있기 때문이지요.

따라서 이 본문의 비유는 우리가 이 세상에 살아 있는 동안 어떻게 살아야 하는지를 잘 보여주고 있다고 볼 수 있는데요. 예수님을 구주로 영접한 우리들은 태어나면서 하나님 아버지께로부터 여러 가지 재능들을 부여 받았고 그것을 가지고 마땅히 해야 할 일들을 이 땅에 살아있는 동안 해야한다는 것을 나타내고 있습니다.

하루를 살더라도 이 비유에 나오는 다섯 달란트, 두 달란트 받은 종처럼 하나님 보시기에 의미있는 삶을 산다면 이 나라는 조금더 밝아지지 않을까요?
